iPhone 12 Pro Max vs iPhone Mini – Durability Test!!

Today we’re going to be durability testingtwo phones at the same time: the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 mini. Frankly, there isn’t a whole lot of difference between the phones except for the size. But the sizeisn’t enough that we should check the structural soundnes. After all, the Max is the biggestiPhone Apple has ever constructed. Quick little cash fact with Jerry though. This $10 legislation mightlook ordinary from the outside. It’s got Alexander Hamilton on the figurehead. You know, the person fromthe musical. But when you glow a sun behind the invoice, the ghost of Alexander Hamiltonappears, which is kind of spooky since he was killed in a pistol struggle. Big thanks toRidge Wallets for sponsoring this video. I’ve had my Ridge Wallet for about 2 years now. It’s a figurehead pocket wallet. And while they have over 30 different pigments and wordings, my favorite is the Burnt Titanium. But this Carbon Fiber’s pretty cool as well. The carbonfiber fibers are woven into a 3K structure, overlaid with epoxy resin, and finished offwith a matte blemish resistant coating. You can experiment out one of the following options Ridge Wallets for4 5 days, and if you don’t like it you can send it back for a full indemnity. The ForageCarbon Wallet is made from compressing carbon fibers and resin, which makes a differentunique decoration for every wallet. It’s also get that same scratching resistant matte coatingon the top. And they all hold 12 placards, plus money. If you use the code jerryrig youcan get 10% off your guild and free worldwide ship. I’ve emphatically been joyful withmine. I’ll leave a link down in the video description. Now it’s time to stability test the new iPhones.Let’s get started .[ Intro] The iPhone 12 Pro that we’ve already testedis the medium sized version which sits between each of these new iPhones. The normal designis the same. The only thing that really modifies is the size. And the fact that the Mini ismade from aluminum instead of stainless steel. But we’ll get to that in a minute. As youcan see there is no charger in either of the boxes, but Apple is always removing somethingso no surprises there. The sizing divergence though is surprising. The Max is pretty muchthe same size as my Note 10 Plus. And the Mini is about the size of the old-fashioned iPhone SE. The telephones are mirror image of each other.Four icons to a sequence on either device.Personally, I belief with more screen real estate on theMax it would be nice if the larger iPhone could fit more trash, or even do a divide screenlike the Androids can. Maybe they’ll catch up in a couple times. Another difference betweenthe phones is the camera parts. The iPhone Mini only has 2 cameras, while the Max has3. I’ll got to get that more in a second. The Mini starts at $ 729, while the Max is $1,099. As far as the screen textile travels, Apple is using their brand-new ceramic shield on the display.Ceramic shield is their special kind of glass that has ceramic quartzs embedded into thematrix. Yeah, we’ve already researched this once, but what’s better than one research? Three. Ceramics generally scratch at around 8 or 9on Mohs scale of hardness. It’s right up there with sapphire. And I’m no substances expert, but Apple says by implant ceramic quartzs into the glass matrix it’s improved the shatterresistance. But they don’t mention much about the scratch fight. After making my wayup through Mohs scale of hardness, we can take a look at the screen. And we do participate scratchesat a grade 6, with deeper grooves at a position 7. But with that tell me anything, it does looklike the level 6 blemishes are much more prominent than usual. We accompany the same thing on the Max, which also has ceramic shield The grade 6 scrapings are there, really not as visible. It’s hard to accurately display with really one phone since it is still glass. The differencebecomes much more dramatic when we encounter a ceramic shield situated next to the regular glass fromlast year. If we look at the previous iPhone 11, the difference in injury is much morevisible. So while both screens can scratch at level 6, I do recollect Corning’s onto somethingwith this new ceramic shield stuff. It does seem slightly more scratch resistant, andit’s even more impressive if those 4x more smash opposition claims are true. But nomatter how sturdy a smartphone claims to be, it’s always exactly better to accidentallyscratch or damage a $10 screen protector, instead of the $1,000 phone. Coincidences happen. Since the screen on these new phones is totallyflat, dbrand’s screen shield sits precisely over the chassis. The cherry-red Mini has the screenprotector set, while the Max does not. So if the telephone does ever are now in contactwith something sketchy, like a razor blade scratching all up on the surface…or, you know, a supremacy drill.Sorry Siri. With the screen protection there is nothing to stress aboutsince is not simply is the screen protector undamaged, the phone is even more undamaged with itsprotective layer. I’ll leave a link for the screen protection down in the video description. After 2020, we all deserve a little less stress. Speaking of damage though, it’s time to checkthe difference between aluminum and stainless steel. The iPhone 12 Mini has an aluminumframe.Aluminum is a softer metal. And as we can see, it plows every single side ofthe phone. Stainless steel is quite a bit harder. My razor strivings get a goodbite Since the blade is made from stainless steel as well. The covered surface can stillscratch so it’s not invincible. Stainless is also heavier than aluminum, but I’m a fanof that. Heavy telephones just have a nicer feel to them. The back glass is also different. The Mini has a smooth glossy feel, while the Max is textured or frosted. The cameras aswell are different. The Mini imitatives the iPhone 12′ s two cameras with its 12 megapixel normaland 12 megapixel ultra wide lens. While the larger iPhone, the Max, simulates the iPhone1 2 Pro’s 3 cameras, it does have slightly larger sensor sizes which we’ll have to seefrom the inside during the teardown. It’s got the 12 megapixel ordinary lens, the wideangle lens, and a 2.5 x telephoto lens, which is half a point increase over the iPhone1 2 Pro’s 2x zoom. The Max has a lidar camera as well. It is odd that Apple would only increasethe telephoto by. 5, while other telephones exist with 5 and 10 x optical zoom. But they do likeplaying it safe. The iPhone Mini has a 5.4 inch display, whilethe Max has a 6.7 inch. Both are the super retina OLED. It’s kind of like the proverbialDavid and Goliath…except for neither of these phones are the good guy since they areboth just trying to take your coin. I left my lighters in place for about 50 secondswhich is a jolly long time. Neither of the telephone sustained any permanent injury, minusthe oleophobic layer evaporating of course. The OLED pixels are unaffected. It represents mewonder if those ceramic crystals are doing a better occupation of segregating from the heat. Now for the stoop exam. Can the aluminum frameof the iPhone 12 Mini hold up under pressure? When stooping from the back there is a verysubtle give to the frame, but no arch, hits or quirks to speak of. Nor when bent from thefront. The iPhone 12 Mini is a solid little cistern of a smartphone, right alongside it’sregular sized iPhone 12 Pro.The iPhone 12 Pro Max though, with it’s increased physicalsize and footprint is also a non-flexing structural behemoth. The stainless steel with it’s inlaidglass committees on front and back are incredibly stiff, even with its ginormous width. Applehas once again made some structurally solid phones. They are, of course, still glass onboth sides and still need to be protected. But other than that, structurally, this newgeneration of iPhones feels and looks pretty great. The showing of the Mini is freaking out abit. Not being as responsive as it should be. Probably from the ardour. But a immediate turningoff of the screen and turning it back on again redresses the touch sense and bringsit back to ordinary. Which of these phones do you want to see taken apart? I’m leaning towardsthe Max so we can see how much bigger those sensors are inside of the camera. And I haveto redeem myself for smash the iPhone 12 Pro screen in front of everyone. So let meknow which one you want to see opened up down in specific comments. Come hang out with me on Instagram and Twitter. And thanks a ton for watching, I’ll be seeing you ..
